DOROTHY NORWOOD UPDATE

Award-winning legendary artist, Dorothy Norwood (Malaco), released No Request on October 2, 2007.

Recorded live in Jackson, Mississippi with the internationally renowned Mississippi Mass choir (Malaco). Guest artist Mosie Burks (Mississippi Mass Choir) is featured on "I Believe" the CDs first radio single.

CD release parties, concerts and signing events were held in November at the Captain Hard Time Restaurant in Chicago, IL, The Word of Deliverance Church in Cincinnati, OH and at the Word and Worship Church in Jackson, MS. Pam Morris from the city of Chicago presented a congratulatory citation to Norwood from Chicago Mayor Richard Daley. Norwood performed a mini concert and Bishop Hilton joined her on the title cut, "No Request." The Caravans closed the party by singing their hit single "Remember Me" from their 2007 reunion CD of the same name. In Cincinnati, Norwood performed a church service concert for 2,000 people and appeared on the Buzz Radio show with Bobby Hilton.

Norwood's gospel music career and ministry has spanned more nearly five decades and she has enjoyed great success. Stand on the Word, her previous solo release, enjoyed a long run in tihe top 15 on Billboard's Top Gospel Album Charts and "Praise in the Temple (It's Service Time)" was featured as a Top Ten Billboard Gospel Song of the Year. Norwood has earned multiple nominations in every major award distinciton in the industry including the Grammies, Stellars, Dove and Soul Train Awards.
